\\ m_{1}=7 kg ,m_{2}=3 kg ,F=40 N

\\ \text{Let acceleration of the blocks be 'a', and Tension in the string be T.}\\ \text{F.B.D of both blocks combined-}

F=\left ( m_{1}+m_{2} \right )a \\ \\ \Rightarrow a=\frac{F}{m_{1}+m_{2}}\ \\ \\ a=\frac{40}{10}=4 \ m/s^{2}

\\ \text{F.B.D of block of mass} \ m_{1}

\\ T=m_{1}a\\ T=7\times 4= 28 N
