Solution: Consider the following statements:

P: Mohan is a poet

Q: Mohan is poor

The given statement in symbolic form is  P\rightarrow Q.Therefore, its contrapositive is given by \sim Q\rightarrow \sim P

Now, 

 \sim P: Mohan is not a poet         

\sim Q : Mohan is not poor.

Therefore, 

 

\sim Q\rightarrow \sim P: If Mohan is not poor, then he is not a poet.  

Hence, the contrapositive of the given statement is “If Mohan is not poor, then he is not a poet”.
