Dr. Mehboob was a well known oncologist across the country. He was known to be up to date with the latest research and treatments. In July 2010 he published an article in a widely circulated medical science journal. The article mainly addressed the issue of Ayurvedic treatment of cancer supported by various data stating Dr. Mehboob's concern that Ayurvedic treatment of cancer is not only fruitless but may at times be harmful.
