$\\\frac{1}{x}=\log_82\;\;and\;\;\frac{1}{y}=\log_84\\\\\frac{1}{x}+\frac{1}{y}=\log_82+\log_84\\\Rightarrow \log_8(2\times4)=\log_88=1$
