Given that AD is the angle bisector of angle BAC

From the concept of angle bisector theorem

\\\frac{AB}{AC}=\frac{BD}{DC}\Rightarrow \frac{6}{8}=\frac{BD}{DC}\\\Rightarrow BD:DC=3:4
