Given that $AB^2+AC^2=100\;cm^2$ and CD = 5 cm

Using the concept of Appolonius Theorem

$A B^{2}+A C^{2}=2\left(A D^{2}+D C^{2}\right)$

$\\100=2(AD^2+25)\\AD=5$

AD = 5cm
