A missile is launched at maximum range with an initial velocity of  20 \frac{m}{s}.

If  g=10\ \frac{m}{s^2}  , the range of the missile is:

Option: 1

50m

Option: 2

40m

Option: 3

60m

Option: 4

100m

Answers (1)

Answer: (2)40 m

Explanation:

For maximum range of projectile \theta will be  45^{\circ} .

Now,

According to the law of Projectile motion:

  R_{max}=\frac{u^2}{g}

Given that:

u=20\ ms^{-1} and \ \ g=10ms^{-1}

  Or,

R_{max}=\frac{\left(20\right)^2}{10}=\frac{400}{10}

   Or,    R_{max}=40\ m
