A proton, deuteron and particle having the same kinetic energy are moving in circular trajectories in a constant magnetic field. If rp, rd and r_{\alpha} denote their radii respectively, the correct order of radii:

Option: 1

r_{\alpha} = rp < rd

Option: 2

r_{\alpha} > rp > rd

Option: 3

r_{\alpha} = r> rp

Option: 4

\because r = \frac{\sqrt {2mk}}{qB}

So,

r = \frac{\sqrt {m}}{q}

r_{p} \alpha \frac{\sqrt {2m}}{q}

\implies r_{\alpha} = \frac{\sqrt {4m}}{2q}

Hence: rp = r_{\alpha} < rd

r_{\alpha} = rp < rd
