\mathrm{E=125 \mathrm{~V} }

When r I connected in series
\mathrm{ i=\frac{E}{R_0+r} }

Reading in voltmeter \mathrm{ =E-i r=100 }

\mathrm{ \therefore 100=125-\frac{125}{2500+r} \times r \\ }

\mathrm{ \Rightarrow \quad r=625 \Omega }.
