Clowes proposed that root apex consists of a quiescent centre having non dividing meristematic cells. Quiescent centre may function as reserve meristem. Due to the presence of it, root apex appears cup shaped. It has very low amounts of DNA, RNA and proteins. Resting meristem may resume division in case of tissue damage. Thus all statements are correct.
