If the initial concentration of \mathrm{A} is \mathrm{2M}. and the rate constants for the first & second steps are \mathrm{0.1s^{-1}} and \mathrm{0.2s^{-1}} respectively, what is the concentration of \mathrm{C} after 2 seconds?

The concentration of \mathrm{C}  at any time in a consecutive reaction can be calculating by:

\mathrm{[C]= k_{1}\times [A]_{0}[\frac{1-e^{\left ( -k_{2}t \right )}}{k_{2}-k_{1}}]}
\mathrm{ [C]=0.1 \times 2 \times \frac{\left[1-e^{-0.2 \times 2}\right]}{0.2-0.1}}
\mathrm{ [C]=\frac{0.2 \times \left[1- e^{-0.4}\right]}{0.1}=1.6 \mathrm{~M}}
