Restriction Endonucleases are ‘Molecular Sussors’. These recognize special sequences known as Palindromic sequences. (Eg. MAM is a Palindrome word). Thus statement 1 is correct. These enzymes cut the strand a little away from center. Hence statement 2 is correct.
