Nervous System of Platyhelminthes:

  • The Platyhelminthes show cephalization, i.e., the grouping of neurons at the anterior end of the body. 
  • They show a characteristic ladder-like nervous system. 
  • There is a pair of nerve cords that are connected through numerous nerves transversely, known as transverse commissures. 
  • A concentration of ganglion is present at the anterior end called cerebral ganglia which have chemosensitive and photosensitive cells (eyespots).
