Lead Chamber -

It is cheaper method

Lead chamber process -

In this process SO2 is oxidised to SO3 by the oxides of nitrogen and the SO3 thus formed is dissolved in steam to form H2So4

PbS reduces PbO to Pb  and SO_{2}  is liberated. This a called as self-reduction.
