Electrometallurgy
Hydrometallurgy
None of the above
The process of extraction of highly reactive metal by electrolysis of their molten or aqueous ores is called electrometallurgy. During the electrolysis of molten or aqueous salts, the metals are always extracted at the cathode (negative electrode). It is a common extraction process for the more reactive metals. For example Sodium, potassium, aluminium, calcium etc.
