Structure of anther -

Each anther consists of two anther lobes and each lobe contains pollen sac. Sterile & undeveloped stamens are called staminodes.

When 4 stamens are present out of them two are long and 2 are short. then it is called didynawous. (lamiaceae)

When sex stamens are arranged in two works (4 long & 2 short), called tetradynamous.

When the floral parts of similar whorl are fusued. it is called cohsion.

When stemens are united by their filament only. it is called adelphy. monoadelphous (cotton, hollyhock & ladyfinger) Diadelphous (pea). polyadelphous (castor, citrus)
