Current gain in common emitter mode of transistor

\mathrm{ \beta=\frac{\Delta i_C}{\Delta i_B} }

\mathrm{ \text { Or } \quad \Delta i_C=\beta \Delta i_B }

\mathrm{ \text { Given, } \quad \beta=49, \Delta i_B=5.0 \mu \mathrm{A} }

\mathrm{ \Delta i_C=49 \times 5.0=245 \mu \mathrm{A} }

For a transistor, emitter current is the sum of base current and collector current.

\mathrm{ \text { ie, } i_E=i_C+i_B }

\mathrm{ \Rightarrow \Delta i_E=\Delta i_C+\Delta i_B }

\mathrm{ \therefore \Delta i_E=245+5.0=250 \mu \mathrm{A} }

Hence option 1 is correct.
