The wave lengths of the lines of Balmer series are given by.
\mathrm{\frac{1}{\lambda}=R_H\left(\frac{1}{2^2}-\frac{1}{n 2}\right) \quad, n=3,4,5, \ldots . }
For the series limit wavelength,\mathrm{ n=\infty } thus
Now,
\mathrm{\frac{1}{\lambda_{\infty}}=R_H\left(\frac{1}{22}\right) }
\mathrm{ R_H=\frac{4}{\lambda_{\infty}}=\frac{4}{3646 \times 10^{-10} \mathrm{~m}}=1.097 \times 10^7 \mathrm{~m}-1 }
