a =\frac{3F}{M} \: \: and \: \: \alpha = \frac{F \times R}{I}

 

\Rightarrow \alpha = \frac{F \times R}{\frac{mR^2}{2}}\Rightarrow \\\\ \alpha = \frac{2F}{mR}

Since a > R \alpha   So friction will act on backward direction
