\mathrm{\frac{\lambda x}{\lambda y}=\frac{2}{3}}\quad-(1)
For equal probability of rate of decay via \alpha and \beta decay must be equal \mathrm{\Rightarrow \lambda_x N_x=\lambda_y N_y}

\mathrm{\Rightarrow \frac{N x}{N y}=\frac{\lambda y}{\lambda x}=3 / 2}.
