The resistance is given by

\mathrm{R}=\frac{\rho \mathrm{L}}{\mathrm{A}}
here, metal plates A and B are of the same material hence, \rho is same for both the plates.
Now let, \mathrm{L}_{\mathrm{A}}=l and \mathrm{L}_{\mathrm{B}}=2l 

then A_A=A \text { and } A_B=2 A

\begin{aligned} & \frac{R_A}{R_B}=\frac{L_A A_B}{L_B A_A} \\ & \Rightarrow \frac{R_A}{R_B}=\frac{L \times 2 A}{2 L \times A} \\ & \Rightarrow \frac{R_A}{R_B}=\frac{1}{1} \end{aligned}
