What is Brewster's Angle?

Answers (1)

best_answer

Brewster's angle is the angle of incidence at which light with a certain polarization is exactly transmitted through a clear surface with no reflection. The reflected light at this angle is polarized parallel to the surface. The relation is given by: $$
Tan θ_{B} = \frac {n_{2}}{n_{1}}
$$

Here,

  • θ- Brewster's angle.
  • n2 - Refractive index of the medium into which the light is transmitted.
  • n1 - Refractive index of the medium from which the light is coming.
