Nervous System and Sense Organs in Arthropods -

  • They possess a well-developed nervous system which is situated ventrally. 
  • Three pairs thoracic and six pairs abdominal ganglia are present.

The following sense organs can be seen:

  • Insects possess compound eyes that form the mosaic vision
  • Antennae perceive smell and touch
  • Taste receptors are present in the feet
  • Balancing organs called statocysts are also present
