All plants are divided into two broad groups i.e. cryptogams and Phanerogamae

  • Cryptogams include all plants that do not form seeds and do not show prominent sex organs while phanerogams include plants with seeds and visible sex organs.
  • Cryptogamae includes Thallophyta, Bryophyta and Pteridophyta while Phanerogamae includes gymnosperms and angiosperms.

Bryophytes and Pteridophytes are cryptogams.
