Pyramid of number is spindle-shaped in a forest ecosystem because producers are mainly large trees which are less in number. Primary consumers like birds, deer, elephant, etc. are more in number than the producers, then the number of secondary consumers and tertiary or top consumers gradually decreases.

Hence, the correct option is (b).
