8. Describe the ‘Green House Effect’ in your own words.
The trapping of radiation by the earth's atmosphere is known as the greenhouse effect. Greenhouse gases consist of carbon dioxide, methane, ozone, nitrous oxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and water vapour. The water vapor responds to the increase in temperature which further leads to the warming. After this, the entire process is carried out. Due to this the earth remains warm. Without this process, life would not have been possible on Earth. Life is now threatened because of an excess of CO2 in the air which is one of the gases responsible for this effect.
