Given in the question,

a unit vector, \vec u=x ( \hat i+ \hat j + \hat k )

We need to find the value of x

|\vec u|=1

|x ( \hat i+ \hat j + \hat k )|=1

x\sqrt{1^2+1^2+1^2}=1

x\sqrt{3}=1

x=\frac{1}{\sqrt{3}}

The value of x   is \frac{1}{\sqrt{3}}
