Q.7  Given that the events A and B are such that P(A)=\frac{1}{2},P(A\cup B)=\frac{3}{5}   and P(B)=p. Find p  if they are

            (i) mutually exclusive

Given, 

          P(A)=\frac{1}{2},P(A\cup B)=\frac{3}{5}

Also, A and B  are mutually exclusive means A\cap B=\phi.

     P(A\cup B)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A\cap B)

                        \frac{3}{5}=\frac{1}{2}+P(B)-0

                       P(B)=\frac{3}{5}-\frac{1}{2}=\frac{1}{10}
