Also, it binds to haemoglobin to form a complex carboxyhaemoglobin, which is 300 times more stable than the oxygen-haemoglobin complex. If the concentration of these complex reaches to 3-4% then the capacity of blood to carry oxygen is reduced. On the other hand,
is not poisonous, it is harmful only at high concentration.
