Normal range of breathing rate per minute in an average adult person at rest is (ii) 15–18

The simple act of moving air into and out of the lungs to enable gas exchange with the internal environment—primarily by bringing in oxygen and expelling carbon dioxide—is known as breathing (or ventilation). In a healthy state, an average adult's resting breathing rate ranges between 15 and 18 beats per minute. This means on average, an adult human being breathes in and out 15–18 times in a minute.
