Q.  2.     With the help of Table 4.1, find out the mass number of oxygen and sulphur atoms.

For Oxygen:

Number of protons = 8 

Number of electrons = 8

Mass number = Number of Protons + Number of neutrons

                      = 8 + 8

                      = 16

Hence mass number for Oxygen is 16.

For Sulphur:

Number of protons = 16

Number of electrons = 16

Mass number = Number of Protons + Number of neutrons

                       = 16 + 16

                       = 32

Hence Mass number for Sulphur is 32.
