Some major points about sowing are discussed below:

  • The first step in sowing is selection of quality seeds for planting.
  • The soil is then prepared using a traditional tool which is funnel-shaped. In this, the seeds are filled into the funnel, which is then passed down through two or three pipes that have opening ends. This is now done by seed drills using tractors. 
  • This ensures the proper spacing and depth between the seeds. 
  • Further, the seed is protected and taken care of so that it can grow into a plant.
