Cytoplasm
The jelly-like substance between the nucleus and the cell membrane is called cytoplasm. Other cell organelles such as mitochondria, Golgi bodies, and ribosomes, are also present in the cytoplasm. It is made up of 80% water and it is usually colourless and clear. Cytoplasm is responsible for the exchange of materials between cell organelles.
