Plants make their own food by a process called Photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is a process used by plants and other organisms to convert light energy into chemical energy and stored in the form of starch which can be used later.
The process by which leaves of green plants prepare their own food is called photosynthesis. During photosynthesis, plants which contain the green pigment chlorophyll produce food in the form of carbohydrates by using carbon dioxide, water and light energy. Oxygen gas is released into the atmosphere.
