Differences between photosynthesis and respiration are:
1. Photosynthesis only occurs in green plants whereas, respiration occurs in all the living organisms.
2. The entire process of photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplasts whereas, respiration process occurs in the mitochondria.
3. Photosynthesis undergoes an anabolic process whereas, respiration undergoes the catabolic process.
4. Formation of food takes place during the process of photosynthesis takes place whereas, the breakdown of food in order to release energy takes place during respiration.
5. The chemical equation of photosynthesis is 6CO2 + 6H2O → C6H12O6+ 6O2 whereas, The chemical reaction of respiration is C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6CO2 + 6H2O.
