National integration means the unity and solidarity of the nation. It is the need of the day. The existence of our nation depends upon it. United we stand divided we fall. As we know India is a land of varieties. There are various races, religions, caste, creeds and languages. To unite them is a difficult task. Our history tells us that we lost our freedom only due to disunity. Inspiteb of these differences a feeling of unity has always been there. As Nehru said, we have' Unity and Diversity'. India is a bundle of contradictions and differences. Our culture and heritage is the cementing force to unite us all. Inspite of various differences we all have same culture. Our ancestors are same. The root cause of this disintegration is self interest, selfishness, egotism or thirst for power. Democratic rule has heightened our ambition. The mis rule of about 60 years has made the people money minded and materialstic. They can be easily tempted. Besides it, during the rule of a weak government many mischief mongers sprout their heads to be independent rulers. Therefore, all the above mentioned causes of disintegration should be removed away and controlled so that our nation may remain integrated and well United.
