Solution:   If a and b  are constant then rth term of AP is

\ Rightarrow hspace1cmt_r=ar+b

Given,       t_m=1/nRightarrow am+b=1/n ...........(1)

and           \t_n=1/mRightarrow an+b=1/m ...........(2)

From (1) and (2) we get

\ Rightarrow a=1/mn and b=0

\Rightarrow t_mn=a(mn)+b=(1/mn)cdot mn+0=1
