If X square + Y square equals to 49 and x minus y equals to 3 then find the value of x cube minus y cube

Answers (1)

Given: x2+y2=49....(i), x-y = 3.....(ii)

(x-y)2 = 9

x2+y2 -2xy = 9

From equation (i)

2xy = 49-9 = 40

xy = 20

Now

x3 - y3 = ( x-y ) (x2+y2 + xy)

= 3 ( 49 + 20 )

= 3x69

= 207
