Fossil fuels are natural resources of energy that are formed from the remains of dead plants and animals buried under the Earth's surface for over a million years. The heat and pressure underneath Earth's surface convert these remains into primary energy sources like coal, petroleum.
One of the major disadvantages of fossil fuel is air pollution. When fossil fuels are burned, they release large amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2), which is a major greenhouse gas. The accumulation of CO2 in the atmosphere traps heat, which leads to global warming and climate change.
