Preface to lyrical ballads

The Lyrical Ballads were first published in 1798, but it was only in the second edition published in 1800, that a preface was added. It is consisted of 23 poems, for by Coleridge and the rest by Wordsworth. It is also regarded as a Romantic manifesto wherein Wordsworth sets out the rules for a new kind of poetry and its theory.
