A rainbow is a natural phenomenon which occurs because of refraction, dispersion, and reflection of sunlight within water droplets that float in the air. When the sunlight enters a raindrop it gets refracted, and then gets split into its seven colors (Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, and Red). After which , internal reflection takes place within the drop, and finally refracted again as it gets out. All this forms a circular arc of seven colors in the sky, a rainbow, which is always present in the direction opposite to the sun.
