State two ways to prevent the rusting of iron.
Rusting of Iron is a chemical reaction in which iron combines with oxygen and water to give hydrated iron oxide which is popularly referred to as rust.
Rusting can be prevented in two ways:
By painting or oiling - Rusting can be prevented by applying a layer of paint, oil, or grease on the surface or iron. This prevents iron from coming into contact with moisture and oxygen.
Galvanization - By coating iron with a thin layer of zinc. It protects it from rusting as zinc prevents direct exposure to air and moisture.
