Solar cells - A device which converts the solar energy directly into the electrical energy in DC form.

Solar panels is an arrangement of large number of solar cells. It provide greater power at higher voltage.

Advantages of solar cells - 

  1. They have no moving parts and require little maintance
  2. They do not cause pollution.
  3. They can work satisfactory in diffused radiations.
  4. They can be set up in remote areas.
