What is photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis is a process by which trees, plants with the help of light from outside, water(which we give), carbon dioxide in air prepare their food. They convert carbon dioxide also known as CO2 and water also known as H2O into glucose also known as C6H12O6 and oxygen also known as O2. Thus, in this process light energy is converted into chemical energy. The site of photosynthesis are leaves. In leaves light is trapped and food is produced. Leaves have chlorophyll which helps in trapping light and production of food. Thus process of photosynthesis is important because through this plants get food.
