Spindle fibers are long filaments made up of microtubules and play a vital role in cell division. They are chiefly involved in moving and segregating the chromosomes during nuclear division. They equally divide the chromosome in a parent cell into two daughter cells whether meiotic or mitotic division is taking place. During mitosis, the spindle fibers are called referred to as the mitotic spindles.
