'My Struggle for an Education' is full of valuable lesson. The author Booker T. Washington, who later on become famous as a social reformer and educator, was a very poor negro. He had a great desire to study but there was no money to spend on his education. But at last he succeeded. So it teaches us following things:

Good Education should be our aim. It is not an easy task. We have to struggle like the author.

Firm determination - It is a mile stone of success. Difficulties may come before us, but they crumble away before firm determination. The author's mother was very ill, he had no money. But all these obstacles could not move him from his aim.
