The letter was written by a farmer Lencho, it was written to God. The letter was written becuase Lencho wanted rainfall for his crops and in the absence of rainfall he might suffer severe loss. As his last efforts after doing everything to ensure that his crops would grow and he gets food, he wrote a letter to god. This last attempts of his was symbol of his faith in God.The letter was written to God under these circumstances.

He wrote a letter to God explaining his situation and seeking God's help. In the letter he asked for monetary help. He demanded a hundred pesos from God to support himself, his crops and his family. He had firm faith that God will help him. So, he addressed the letter to the God and sent it to the letterbox of post office.
