Which acid is present in a lemon?

The primary acid present in lemon is citric acid. It gives lemons their sour taste and low pH (around 2-3). Lemons also contain smaller amounts of ascorbic acid (vitamin C). This gives nutritional value, which is good for our health. The Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) in lemons acts as an antioxidant and protects cells from damage.
