Kinetic energy (K) of a body is defined as the,K = ½ mv2, where m is the mass of the body and v is the velocity of the body.
Since, mass of the body (m) is always a positive quantity and the term v2 in the kinetic energy is always positive, therefore, kinetic energy of a body is always a positive quantity. Therefore kinetic energy can never be negative.
Potential energy can be negative because potential energy due to gravity is also a negative quantity.
Force is a vector qunatity and therefore it can be positive or negative.
Work can be either positive or negative: if the force has a component in the same direction as the displacement of the object, the force is doing positive work. If the force has a component in the direction opposite to the displacement, the force does negative work
