Dear diary,
Yesterday was my 18th birthday. I had no plans as I am giving exams these days and was quite occupied with studies. Little did I know, my family had a surprise planned for my birthday. Yesterday, I woke up at 8 o’clock as usual. I received many wishes through calls and texts. The house had no commotion of such a celebration. At 4pm, I went to study at Nikhil’s house. He insisted me on coming to his house. I came home around 8 and was surprised to see the house decorated and filled with my friends and family. They all shouted “happy birthday” in unison. I was overwhelmed by such a gesture and felt so lucky. Nikhil was in on the surprise and that was his role in luring me away from the house so they could decorate it. I cut a two tiered cake which was beautifully decorated. We had large variety of food. My favourite was the honey chilli potato and the white sauce pasta. I received lots of gifts from everyone. It was a joyous occasion of a get together. I thoroughly enjoyed it and all my stress regarding the exams disappeared.
